Glamp My Camper!
Meet Flossie! I begged my husband to let me buy this 1966 trailer camper. Not only did he say yes, but he agreed to drive me clear to Detroit to pick it up. 23 hours round trip. Straight. :( The longest trip of my life..
But! I LOVE it. :) Totally worth it. The outside was darling but the inside needed some paint and TLC. One coat of primer and 6 coats if paint and she was a new girl! I decked her out with a chandelier and glass knobs and drawer pulls. I went crazy buying retro decor and string lights. I even found a darling flamingo to adorn the outside of my home away from home! My dad and husband helped me install a permanent air conditioner inside and I added some pretty paintable wallpaper to the old back splash. We bought a little flat screen TV with a built in dvd player to stick in there for the kids and a memory foam mattress topper for the hubby and I. <3 it! Here's some pictures I took along the way:

Cottage Bed
I saw a few pictures on the Internet of a bed I wanted to buy for my daughter.. After finding out the price, I decided to draw one out and ask my dad to help me make it. (Or actually make it.. I bought the supplies, sanded, painted and primed the wood and that was about the extent of my participation.) My dad can build anything and he happens to like to do things for us, so it works out great!
I bought the slide and swing at Menards, the lights from Crate and Barrel and the quilt, shams and matching pendant from a nice lady on Etsy. I made the curtains to match her bedroom curtains.
It turned out better than I imagined and I love it more than the one similar I saw online because my dad built it. I had him sign, "Made with love " on the underside for her.
A few pics along the way...
Stache Bash
Last year we had a "Stache Bash" Casino Night for my son's birthday. My husband and stepdad worked the blackjack and the roulette tables. The boys were given $25 in fake casino cash to start with. With that money they gambled to win more (or lose more!) With that money, they could buy items from the snack table and t-shirts. They had a great time! We even had casino sounds playing in the background! (You can buy them on itunes!)
An American Girl Valentine Day Party
My daughter Ella and her friends love their American Girl dolls! I decided to have a small Valentines Day party for her and a few friends and their dolls. The girls were given Valentine necklaces that I made them. Their dolls got matching ones, as well as a homemade valentine dress and hair piece (made by a sweet friend).
Hot cocoa with whipped cream and marshmalows. Mmmmm.
